The marketing gimmick trying to tell you that letting go is acceptable. The truth of the matter is that it isn’t. Our times are very different compared to any other generation. If we put on a little weight here and there, the effort to get rid of it is far more than needed by previous generations because ours is more sedentary.

The effects of alcohol vary from person to person and certainly depends on the amount of consumption. Alcohol itself may not have a large number of calories but what is harmful are the sugary drinks we use as mixers and the oily food we consume as snacks.

So, coming back to the Dad Bod. As much as it may seem easy and not take much effort in keeping up that body type, it will slowly take its toll on the system. The back, neck and knees wear out more in comparison to when you were lighter. We say it’s a marketing gimmick because it’s the one segment of the market that doesn’t take itself too seriously and hence is unaffected by the advertisements and subtle placements in all that we consume.
